On August 15th, the IRS reopened the registration period for federal beneficiaries who didn’t get their $500 per child as part of their Economic Impact payments earlier this year. Social Security, SSI, Department of Veterans Affairs and Railroad Retirement Board beneficiaries that used the Non-Filers tool to provide their children’s info don’t need to act. IRS will automatically make payments in October. If you are a federal beneficiary that hasn’t used the Non-Filers tool to provide information on your child, register online by Sept. 30 using the Non-Filers Tool

If you do not have direct deposit set up or need to update your information do the following:
- Visit the IRS Get My Payment (click this link), where you can :
- Check your payment status
- Confirm if you want a check or direct deposit, and
- Enter your bank or credit union information (routing number and account number)
Eligible taxpayers who filed tax returns for either 2019 or 2018 and chose direct deposit of their refund will automatically receive an Economic Impact Payment of up to $1,200 for individuals or $2,400 for married couples and $500 for each qualifying child.
