Tax Site Manager

Site Manager (Temporary Contract Position – up to 40 hours/week) January 2019 to April 2019
Manage or assist the manager of a tax site which prepares free returns for working families. This is an exciting, rewarding and challenging position which interacts with many clients and dedicated volunteers while developing tax skills. The site manager is ultimately responsible for maintaining the quality procedures and processes required by the IRS and CASH to ensure the accuracy and proper filing of tax returns at the site.

Tax Associate (Consultant)

This position provides support to a statewide network of free tax preparation programs to ensure they have the tools and training they need to deliver high quality services that help people reach financial stability. Responsibilities also include supporting tax volunteers, Community Fellows, and interns in their experience to successfully learn and produce outcomes for our partner programs. This position reports to the Director of Tax Partnerships.

Tax Intern

January 2019 to April 2019
The Tax Internship offers students the opportunity to become IRS certified tax preparers and join a CASH Campaign of Maryland tax site under the direct supervision of a tax site manager. Interns provide free tax preparation services to working families – helping them avoid the high cost of paid tax preparers. Interns will gain valuable professional experience, comprehensive tax law and tax preparation training, culminating in official IRS certification, and interpersonal and interviewing skill. All majors are encouraged to apply.

Community Resource Navigator Intern

January 2019 to April 2019
The Community Resource Navigator (CRN) Intern connects individuals and families to valuable resources and information that help them increase their financial stability. Interns will be trained to work one-on-one with tax clients to provide resources on financial products and saving tools at tax sites across Maryland. The CRN intern helps clients complete initial paperwork, listens to the financial challenges and goals of clients, and then connects them with on-site services such as savings accounts, prepaid cards and U.S. savings bonds. The CRN intern provides front-line support at each tax site that helps sites run smoothly and efficiently. All majors are encouraged to attend. A $500 stipend can be awarded on a competitive basis.
