Program Associate, Financial Capability

The CASH Campaign of Maryland seeks a Program Associate to support the delivery of its direct service programs at the University of Maryland Baltimore, Community Engagement Center (CEC) in West Baltimore. The Program Associate will work at the CEC with other CASH staff, volunteers, and community partners to offer financial education, public benefits screening, tax site support, case management, and referrals to ensure that families receive the resources they need. The salary range is $40,000 – $45,000 commensurate with experience and includes a generous benefits package of full health coverage, parking, short- and long-term disability, employer retirement match, paid vacation, and more! Community Fellows

The Maryland Community Fellows program (MCFP)  is a unique paid fellowship opportunity for ambitious and mission-driven students. Fellows are trained in federal and state tax law and placed at Community Action Agencies (CAAs) to provide free tax preparation services to low-to-moderate income Marylanders. Community Action Agencies were established in 1964 to fight poverty and promote self-sufficiency in low-income communities by providing a range of programs and supports to community members, including the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which has operated for over 50 years.  For more information click here.

Tax Site Manager – Temporary Contract Position – up to 40 hours/week December 2023 – April 2024

This is an exciting, rewarding, and challenging position that interacts with many clients and dedicated volunteers while developing tax skills. The Site Manager leads or supports a lead Site Managers run a tax site that prepares free returns for working families.  The Site Manager is ultimately responsible for maintaining the quality procedures and processes required by the IRS and CASH to ensure the accuracy and proper filing of tax returns at the tax site.
