Finance Director:
The Finance Director is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s finances and, in partnership with the CEO and COO, the overall financial health of CASH Campaign. This position works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and staff to maintain sound fiscal management, ensure regulatory compliance, and align financial resources with the organization’s mission and goals. The ideal candidate brings a background in nonprofit accounting and grant management, with the ability to move comfortably between day-to-day financial operations and reporting and higher-level strategic thinking. CASH currently employs an Operations Manager and external accounting firm that will work in collaboration with this position. CASH is seeking a hands-on accounting professional to serve as the organization’s first Finance Director and elevate the financial leadership and strategy of the organization. Established in 2017, CASH has an annual budget of between $3-4 million, with substantial revenue from government grants as well as foundations, program income, corporate, and individual contributions. The Finance Director will join a six-person management team and work collaboratively with them to develop strategy and help strengthen CASH’s long-term sustainability and impact. This is a rare opportunity for a finance professional who wants to grow with an organization and do more than just manage the books.
This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office, with additional in-person engagement as needed based on organizational demands. Salary range $90,000-$110,000 commensurate with experience. Sr. Program Associate, Financial Education & Capability
The CASH Campaign of Maryland seeks a Sr. Program Associate to support the development and delivery of its direct service programs in the community. The Sr. Program Associate will work in various community settings to offer financial education classes, financial coaching, public benefits screening, case management, and referrals to ensure that families receive the resources they need. The Sr. Program Associate will help build connections with community partners to create connections with the community members. They will be responsible for developing new financial education, coaching, and benefit screening opportunities. CASH offers content training on its curriculum and benefits screening tool to ensure successful delivery of its content.
This is a full-time position with a salary range of 55,000 – $60,000 commensurate with experience. This position includes a generous benefits package with an estimated value of $15,000 that includes employer paid health coverage, dental, vision, access to a health spending account, short- and long-term disability, 403B retirement with an employer match, $50 monthly cell phone reimbursement, parking or metro pass. Community Fellows
Fellows will primarily focus on:
- Providing one-on-one tax preparation and/or tax return quality review services to VITA clients;
- Helping VITA clients understand and meet their tax responsibilities;
- Ensuring that eligible VITA clients claim tax credits – for example, the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) (https://www.taxoutreach.org/tax-credits/earned-income-tax-credit/) and Child Tax Credit (CTC) (https://www.taxoutreach.org/tax-credits/child-tax-credit/) – and every tax benefit they may quality for;
- Referring VITA clients to other helpful services and programs to help them save money, build assets, and reach financial goals.

Maryland Community Fellows’ job duties may include:
- Successfully pass advanced level certification exam for the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and effectively become an expert in VITA, tax laws, and tax credits;
- Work with your placement site to implement a VITA free tax preparation site during tax season;
- Certify as a VITA Site Coordinator;
- Assist in the general administration of the VITA program;
- Provide referrals and access to other helpful financial capability resources and services;
- Provide taxpayer financial education during individual appointments, where applicable, and
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in computer applications and software, such as Microsoft Office suite, Google suite, Slack, TaxSlayer, etc.;
- Superior customer service skills;
- Ability to excel in team settings;
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision;
- Attention to details and comfort working on multiple projects simultaneously;
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate with program supervisors and administrators promptly and effectively, as well as tax clients and other volunteers; and
- Ability to meet deadlines and submit required materials (timesheets, evaluations, schedules, written assignments, etc.) in a timely fashion and upon request by program staff
Eligible candidates must:
- Be currently enrolled in a degree program as an undergraduate or graduate student for at least one semester during the program year (relevant work experience can be substituted for education);
- Have a 3.0 GPA (or reasonable justification for lower GPA);
- Be legally eligible and authorized to work in the United States (without employer sponsorship); and
- Able to leave campus and travel to placement site (must have reliable transportation).
The Maryland Community Fellows Program begins in October 2026 and ends in mid-April of 2027. Fellows are expected to work 1 day (~8 hours) a week with CASH in the Fall, and 3 days (~20 hours) a week in the Spring. Fellows complete a maximum of 400 hours throughout the duration of the Fellowship (100 hours in the Fall; 300 hours in the Spring).
Fellows will receive a stipend of up to $7,200 ($18/hour) for the duration of the Fellowship, paid bi-weekly. Fellows will receive paid training on federal and state tax law. Fellows will also receive financial education and professional development opportunities at no cost.
