The nonprofit CASH Campaign of Maryland presents the 16th annual Money Power Day® 2023, the region’s largest free financial fitness fair. Join us for an energy-packed day filled with exciting activities designed to inspire and inform people of all ages on how to boost their financial power!
Workshops

Tell our panel at Money Power Day®! Our “Pitch Your Side Hustle” contest gives you a chance to tell your business dreams to a group of experts. Winners will receive cash prizes and advice on how to transform your business idea into a reality!
1st Prize = $500
2nd Prize = $250
Winners must be present and available to provide a 1 minute pitch to our audience at Money Power Day to receive prizes. The winner will be announced on March 18, 2023 at 2:40 pm in the Exhibitor Hall at Money Power Day (Poly-Western High School, 1400 W. Cold Spring Lane).

Workshops
Opening Ceremony 9:30 – 9:45 am
Featuring a welcome by Pastor Wade from Macedonia Baptist Church, remarks from Maryland Comptroller Lierman, and remarks by Mayor Brandon Scott.
Preparing for Home Ownership: 10:00 am -11:15 am
Home Ownership is the cornerstone of wealth building for many American families. Have you ever wanted to buy a home? In this workshop, speakers from the Baltimore City Office of Home Ownership, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, and Neighborhood Housing Services will tell you what you need to know to start along the path to owning your own home.
Starting a Small Business: 10:00 am -11:15 am
Do you have a great business idea or just want to learn more about starting a small business? Presenters from the Enoch Pratt Free Library, the CASH Campaign, The Small Business Resource Center, and Sr. Business Consultant from JP Morgan Chase will cover what you need to know. Topics include market analysis, business plans, tax structures, and finance options.
Working with a Small Business Lender: 11:30 am -12:45 pm
Back by popular demand, join local small business owners and the lenders they worked with. Lenders will discuss what they look for in a business and how they can help your business get started or grow. Business owners will share their tips and advice for new business owners. Panelists include Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Truist, MECU, JP Morgan Chase, and the Small Business Resource Center.
Planning and Paying for Higher Education: 11:30 am -12:45 pm
In this workshop, learn the tricks of the trade to successfully pay back student loans. Speakers will cover options for lower payments, how to communicate with lenders, and job paths that can help minimize or eliminate your debt. Presenters from the Maryland Center for Collegiate Financial Wellness, The CASH Campaign, and Student Borrower Protection Center will review the best ways to plan and pay for higher education and manage student debt.
Plan for and Protect your Legacy: 1:15 pm -2:30 pm
Do you have a plan in place to protect you, your family, and your assets? This workshop will review the importance of preparing for the future and your legacy as part of a healthy financial plan. Our expert panel will give you the tools you need to know the basics of creating a will, medical directive, power of attorney, & guardianship, and how these things fit into your overall financial plan. Professionals from a variety of backgrounds will present and be available for questions.
Rock Your Credit Score: 1:15 pm -2:30 pm
Learn how to make your credit report and credit score work for you! Attend this interactive workshop to learn the basics of credit including what affects a credit score, how to improve a score, how to protect and monitor credit, and how to begin credit repair process. Experts from JP Morgan Chase will be on hand to help you Rock Your Credit Score!
